A cookery school scheme is helping children build skills and confidence.

At Darley Street Market in Bradford, the FoodSavers Cookery School has been running workshops since November 2025 in partnership with Inn Churches, Living Well, and the Living Well Schools programme.

The workshops support Bradford’s Healthy Schools scheme by removing health-related barriers to education and giving pupils opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive.

Juli Thompson, chief executive officer of FoodSavers, said: “Feedback from pupils demonstrates strong outcomes across health, confidence, engagement, skills development, and enjoyment of learning – core Living Well Schools aims and priorities.”

“Pupils consistently described sessions as ‘the best day ever’ and ‘the best school trip so far,’ with many independently awarding 10/10 ratings.”
