Eight thousands pounds of savings

FoodSavers members across the network of 28 pantries saved £8,259 in their Credit Union accounts through shopping at FoodSavers outlets between April and June 2025 – a slight increase on the previous quarter.

This amount of savings – made by 1,713 savers – represents a significant increase from the average amount saved in 2024, which averaged £6,000 per quarter.

Members made £8,021 weekly shops in April, May and June, taking home enough food for 48,126 meals.

FoodSavers members pay a weekly membership fee each time they visit (typically £6) for around 15 items of shopping. £1 of their membership fee is deposited in a Credit Union account in their name, helping to build financial resilience as well as meeting the immediate need for affordable healthy food.
