Feeding an army

Yesterday we were privileged to deliver some pre-Christmas treats to troops supporting the COVID-19 test and trace operations in Liverpool.

Members of the Coldstream Guards and Royal Artillery were deployed to support operations in Liverpool for two weeks, and are still there over a month later.

With donations from Fareshare Yorkshire, Marks & Spencer and others, we were able to deliver care packages of biscuits, chocolates, drinks, snacks and crisps to the troops, who are billeted in Pontins Southport, and provide a little variety from the limited diet they have been on.

With vaccine rollout imminent, the two regiments may be instructed to stay on to support deployment of the vaccine and so it was great to be able to support them with a little treat in the run up to Christmas.
