Cafés
Unfortunately both of our cafés are currently closed.
Our cafés serve delicious and healthy meals on a pay-as-you-feel basis. All of our food is ‘surplus’ food, rescued from being thrown away just because it is surplus to somebody’s requirements, but always high quality and in perfect condition.
Jude’s Urban Kitchen is based at Shaw House, 22 Rawson Road, Bradford, BD1 3SQ, next to our social supermarket at the top of town.
Incorporating both a café and a state-of-the-art cookery school, there’s always a warm welcome at Jude’s Urban Kitchen.
The Storehouse Café is based above our warehouse at 116 Caledonia Street, Bradford, BD4 7BQ – just south of Bradford city centre. We are around 7 minutes’ walk from Bradford Interchange, or 12 minutes’ walk from City Park. There is a small amount of parking in front of the building, and plenty more on the streets nearby.
Menu and pricing – what is pay-as-you-feel?
Our menu changes every day depending on what food we have available. However, it is always high quality and delicious and we always offer a choice of dishes.
Always vegetarian (and often with a vegan option), we aim to serve up at least 3 or 4 different dishes, accompanied by our self-service salad bar and with a range of delicious cakes and desserts to follow. Main dishes often include curries, soup, omelettes, bakes and chillis – if you want to know exactly what’s on offer today then give us a call.
All of our meals are served on a pay-as-you-feel basis: our food is given away, and recipients can choose to give back financial donations, their time, energy or skills as they see fit. Simply order at the counter and your meal will be served with an envelope, in which you can make a fair donation as you feel appropriate.
Our food is sourced through our food hub – all of it is ‘unwanted’ good quality food which we have intercepted from going to landfill.
Speciality coffees (including our specially roasted Beanie Blend), Mad Hatter Teas, soft drinks and cakes are also available to purchase at fixed rates.
