Order your kids’ challenge box now, and get a box of ingredients that will make three to five meals or snacks for one to two people (dependent on how kitchen savvy the child is). Your kids can then use their imagination to create healthy and appealing meals.
Step 1: Create your plate! Make it look colourful and appealing, and be adventurous with your flavours. Remember to keep your dish healthy, by thinking about the amount of fat, salt and sugar you use, and considering portion size. You can use the ingredients provided as inspiration or to look for recipes online, and you can always add additional ingredients from your own cupboards.
Step 2: Share your creations with us on social media (tag @iccooking and use #foodchallenge21).
Choose from chicken, minced beef or vegetarian. Halal available.
Boxes must be collected from Bradford (BD4), from 1st to 3rd June.
Boxes are free for those in receipt of free school meals, or £3 otherwise.
The normal-size small print
One box per household. Orders must be placed by Sunday 30th May 2021, and stocks are limited so please book early.
Collection will be from The Storehouse, 116 Caledonia Street, BD4 7BQ on Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd June 2021. You’ll be contacted with a collection slot to ensure social distancing.
Free school meal places are generously subsidised by the Department for Work & Pensions’ COVID Local Support Grant, through Bradford Metropolitan District Council. You will need to show proof of free school meals when you collect. Because boxes are limited, please do not order unless you are definitely going to be able to use it, and please let us know immediately if you no longer want it so that we can reallocate your box.
Each box will contain details of websites for recipe ideas and tips on kitchen safety.
By ordering, you agree to take pictures of your child’s finished dishes and share them on social media, or by email with us if you don’t use social media.
